The Netgear DG834GT has a well designed security system to protect you from potential hackers. It has a True Firewall built-in. This is a double firewall which includes Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and Denial of Service (DOS). This offers the first part of the defence against potential intruders.
WEP and WPA-PSK encryption is included with the DG834GT, which helps prevent eavesdroppers and those that might try and steal bandwidth.
You can block inappropriate websites using content filtering. You can even prevent usage at certain times of the day. This can be useful if you have children and want to block access when they are not supervised.
You can also allow access to only pre determined computers using their MAC address. A MAC address is a unique ID for each computer.
